Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.
Definition: A technique for separating the different parts of a mixture / solid using liquid.
Rainbow paper
Materials;
1. tissue paper
2. felts
3. ruler
4. cup
5. water
6. something to mark it
Process:
Step 1:draw three colors 2 cm away from the bottom.
Step 2:draw a line 3 cm away from the top.
Step 3:then fold it on the line.
Step 4:place in the cup.
Step 5:put water into the cup.
Step 6:wait and see what happens.
Findings: The colors started forming together as the water rises up the tissue paper
Reflection: I have learnt from this experiment that colors can form to be a different colour
Skittles
Materials;
Aim: To separate colors by using the process of chromatography.

5. a camera to record what happens
Process:
Step 1:place skittles evenly apart in the holder.
Step 2:place in the water.
Step 3:record what happens.
Step 4:at the end open the lid.
Step 5:grab a skittle.
Step 6:and eat it.
Findings: the colors of the skittles started melting off to make a rainbow.
Reflection: i have learnt that skittles with water = colorful water
the colors started melting off of the skittles to make a rainbow
they did not mix together
they did not mix together because they were evenly spreed out
