Science blog

Aim: To produce sodium chloride salt by carrying out a neutralization reaction.

Equipment: 50 mL and 200 mL beakers, dilute HCI ( hydrochloric acid ), dilute NaOH ( sodium hydroxide ), 25 mL measuring cylinder, a glass string rod, spotting title, Universal indicator solution, tripod, gauze mat, bunsen burner, evaporating basin.

method: Using the measuring cylinder measure 10 mL of HCI and pour it into your 50 mL beaker. Add dilute NaOH a few drops at a time stirring with the glass rod. Every 10-15 drops stop adding the NaOH and use the glass stirring rod to transfer a drop of the solution to a spotting tile. Test its pH using a Universal indicator. Keep adding NaOH and testing the solution by repeating step 2. As you get closer to neutral you may need to test the solution after every drop. Pour the neutral solution into an evaporating basin and evaporate the water out of the solution using the equipment set up shown above.

Observations:

This is the photo we got from the experiment

Understanding lyrics !! ( Ft. John Lennon )

So for this, I had to choose a song that talks about the Vietnam war and how the words relate to giving hope or peace.

 Ev'rybody's talking about

Bagism, Shagism, Dragism, Madism, Ragism, Tagism
This-ism, that-ism, is-m, is-m, is-m
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance
C'mon
Ev'rybody's talking about Ministers
Sinisters, Banisters and canisters
Bishops and Fishops and Rabbis and Pop eyes
And bye bye, bye byes
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance
Let me tell you now
Ev'rybody's talking about
Revolution, evolution, masturbation
Flagellation, regulation, integrations
Meditations, United Nations
Congratulations
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance
Ev'rybody's talking about
John and Yoko, Timmy Leary, Rosemary
Tommy Smothers, Bobby Dylan, Tommy Cooper
Derek Taylor, Norman Mailer
Alan Ginsberg, Hare Krishna
Hare, Hare Krishna
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance

This song's meaning is for the Vietnam war and its meaning: they want to all try and give peace a chance and a chance for people to accept the world and come together to make sweet noises and talk about
different things that happen/happened in the war.

The Beatles ( BeatleMainia )

So for this blog post, we have to choose a Beatles song and write the name and how it's changed from the songs beforehand and why other people went crazy over this band.

The song I chose is called In My Life vv

Song name: In My Life

" But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new" This is the lyrics from the song I'm using to back up what I say ) This song talks about someone special that is close to you that even family or friends cant replace. In other words, one true love that can never end.

This song has changed from the music beforehand because no one dared to sing about boyfriends girlfriends or love so it was a big change in the community and that's where people started to fall in love with the band The Beatles and created the word BeatleMainia for themselves ( Basically meaning everyone went insane over the Beatles it got so bad that they made a name for what to call them ) The Beatles music sounds more upbeat and more alive because before this band came out all the music was, all the same, no special twist to anything, Not something people would get interested in all the bands in 1940 never had any electric guitars or anything to make it there own music.

Overall The Beatles was an amazing band and they made a huge change in freedom and women's rights and made people express themselves as who they are not what they're made to be.

Thanks for reading my blogpost make sure to comment something to help me make my blog to your liking !! Well till next time.

Oh also in case you wanted all the lyrics

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

Athletics Day

So Thursday last week the whole of Hornby high school had athletics day, This day is always fun to me because you are in mufti being active and talking to people around us without any periods or a time through the day.

We got to choose between two styles on what to do, Social ( going with classmates and that ) or Competitive ( going and figuring it out by yourself ) I chose social because I'm lazy and can't be bothered going anywhere.

My friend and I throughout the whole day just went around doing what we were met to and talking and just exploring the rest of the school while being idiots.

We didn't really do much else but we got ice blocks that taste good so my overall idea is that athletics day is one of the only days I look forward to in school at the start of every year.

Thank you for reading my blog post a comment or something !!

Significance of WW1 - The Last Post

Hello and welcome to my blog today were talking about ANZAC day I know many people have fought in the war someone in your family might have as well so this is just a post explaining

When do you hear the song The Last Post??

You hear this song earlier before ANZAC day actually happened due to the fact that people went into war before they had to.

Why this song is important to new Zealand?

This song is important to New Zealand to show our thank you to the people who have served in the war and just a song to play while sitting in silence to pay our respects.

What's the history behind this song and why do we play it?

We play the song the last post to pay respects so that the body that was killed can finally rest in peace. The history behind the song in the last post is because. It was incorporated into the military memorial service to symbolize a farewell to all the people who died.

This is the song The Last post for everyone who doesn't know!!

Anyway, that's all I did for my blog post because that's all we had to do! Have a lovely day night or evening.
