Water Filter Science

Aim: To make a filtration plant using household materials.

What is filtration?

Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass. 

Examples are:

1. tea bag
2.  coffee
3. kidney
4.  pool

Materials

1. bottle

2. rocks 

3. sand

4. filter paper

5. dirty water

Process - ( use verbs or doing words in each step )

Step 1

Cut the bottle in half

Step 2

Put the top half upside down inside of the bottle

STEP 3

Add one layer of filter paper, cup of pebbles, and sand

STEP 4

Get 1 cup of dirty water 

STEP 5

Pour dirty water into  the filter

Measurements

1 Minute : the bottle has about 1 cm of water in it. 
2 Minute : the bottle has been going faster
3 Minute: the bottle is half full and the water is gone

Warning

Make sure that an adult cuts the bottle in half. This water filter is just an experiment and should not be used for drinking water.

Avoid using charcoal briquets, as these can contain chemicals you don't want in your water. Use the activated carbon for water purifiers instead.

Science Experiment

This are some easy steps on how to make a science experiment at home
Aim: Make a chemical reaction (fizz)
what do you need? : baking soda, tray, vinegar, 2x cups, measuring cups.
Grab 2 cups and a tray place the cup inside of the tray place 1 tea spoon of baking soda inside of one cup  then add some vinegar wait and see what happens. With the other cup pour in the vinegar first then add the baking soda wait for the reaction.

Questions 2 answer if you can : what was different between the too ways of doing this? how could you make a bigger reaction?

Salt Water experiment

The Plan

1. What do we need to find out?  how much salt it will take to make water not freeze
2. How will we find it out? doing it at home
3. How will we record what we find? write it down
4. What equipment do we need for the experiment? salt glass cup water freezer
5. How long will it take? 3 hours

The Proceduce

Step 1; take a glass cup
Step 2: put salt in
Step 3: put in water
Step 4: put in freezer
Step 5: let sit for 3 hours

Step 6: take it out

Doing Drama Again

On Tuesday  5th of February class 7/8 Bh and 7/8 Tz were doing our drama. skip time to 8th of Thursday today we did a few fun games one of them were freeze motion game so we got told to do something then we got told to stop at a point and freeze for 3 seconds the other game  was we got given a word and we had to put a pose in motion and the freeze for 3 seconds mine was one were you had to water plants i was a flower so..... i don't know what to say apart from it was fun! :3
